What Are Mnemonics? by Devin

Mnemonics are something to help you remember things.
Its kind of like an acrostic poem.
Here is a mnemonic about mnemonics.

Monkey

Nutshells
In

What Are We Doing?

Since we are learning about space we decided to make mnemonics to help us remember the order of the planets between the Sun and Neptune. (Pluto isn't considered a planet anymore.)

The Spectacular Art Evening

On Thursday 15th of November, M.C.S held their annual art evening. It was AMAZING! Every child in the school had at least one piece of art on show.
There were spacecraft, collages, hemispheres, fishes, sketches, rock art aka rocking art and loads more.
There was also a silent auction and refreshments so you wouldn't get too thirsty looking at all that FABULOUS art! A lot of parents/caregivers, uncles & aunts and other family relatives came to see their children's art work. I bet they were all stunned when they looked at the art. It was soooooooooooo Amazing! We took some pictures to prove it. Here is the art we thought was the best:

Abstract Art - Space Themed Hemispheres

What is Abstract Art?

Abstract Art is where you paint/draw ideas and feelings rather than what you see.

What Is Our Art About?

We looked at some paintings by the NZ artist Gretchen Albrecht. She painted large paintings shaped like half a circle, she called them hemispheres

Our topic for this term is Space we decided to use the hemisphere shape to show two different ideas – on a Space theme.
